Fireplace Inspections
During an inspection of the chimney, we will check the soundness and integrity of the chimney and the flue itself to ensure there are no significant cracks in the structure that could lead to unsafe conditions. The crown and the flashing around the chimney will be inspected for water leakage that could damage the interior of the chimney.
During the inspection of the flue and smoke shelf, we will be checking for creosote build up that could potentially lead to a chimney fire if left unchecked. We will also inspect the damper to make sure the seal is sufficient and that there is no rust present. If a woodstove is present, the seals will be checked for deterioration. We will take pictures of all areas and document any concerns that are found.
